A lessee/lessor may wish to agree on the terms of a lease before actually entering into a full written lease.  An exchange of correspondence may not be sufficient to constitute an agreement for lease – see Azkanaad Pty Ltd v Galanos Bros Pty Ltd (2008) NSWCA 185.  The solution is executing an agreement to lease in written form that may be signed by way of acceptance.
